Ok, Ok!

So apparently some people don't think I post on here enough. :-) You know who you are! ;-) So, here is a small update. As most of you know I went to Florida a week ago to meet Brian's dad, step-mom, and other family members in FL. It was so great to meet them! I had a lot of fun. Mostly because I got to see Brian again and spend time with him. :-) On the last day I was there we went to the ocean. It was my first time standing in the Atlantic ocean! It was warm (at least to me) and such a beautiful sight! It was perfectly clear and sunny. I think that was the only day it didn't rain while I was there! Figures! But I still had a blast!
In 16 days Brian and I will be back in WI/MN! I can't wait to see Brian again so soon and to see all of my family members again! I can't wait! And while we are back we'll be able to get some more wedding stuff done so that will be great. That Saturday that we are back I"m going dress shopping with my bridesmaids to find them a dress to wear. We are going to try to find a long dress for them since we are getting married outside on my parent's farm in January. I'm hoping for 20 degrees and light snow! Lindsey (my sister) says that knowing me it will either be a record high of 65 or it will be -15 with a blizzard. :-)
Well, thats a little update for now. I'm sorry I"m so bad about keeping up with my blog. It's hard when I don't have internet access at home. I'll post again when Brian reminds me that it's been over a month since my last post. :-) Until then......

A Whole Month!

Yesterday was a month since I got engaged. I can't believe it's already been a month! And yet at times it seems like forever ago that I was in VA being proposed to! One of the coolest things about the fact that it's been a month is that I have been wearing the ring for 30 days and I haven't broken out! YAY! Only 345 days until Brian and I are married!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! (ok, I'm just a LITTLE excited about that!)

Ok, so I'm horrible at keeping up with my blog! I appologize! I just wanted to say it again (becuase I"m sure all of you know this already)....I'm ENGAGED! It happened over Christmas while I was out visiting Brian in VA. We have set the date of our wedding for January 3rd of 2009. Only 1 year away!!!!! Well, it's that time of year again! I started listening to Christmas music today and I already have half of my shopping done! I love the holidays! And this Christmas will be the best yet!!! Why?! Because I will be spending it with Brian!!!!! Oh Yeah! I can't wait! The only thing that could make it even better is if it snowed! I so want snow for Christmas! That would be the best!!!

Out of the House

I didn't have Talia today so Ty (Ethan's dad) and I switched vehichles and Ethan and I went to the zoo! We actually got out of the house!! This rarely happens for me...or Ethan! We had a blast at the zoo! He loved watching all the animals even though he couldn't see very many from the stroller. :-) It was a sunny, but chilly day. We bundled up and spent over 2 hours at the Woodland Zoo in Seattle! He only napped for 15 minutes in the car ride on the way home, but I'll take it because we got out of the house!!!! Wooohooo!

A Little Vent

I love going on facebook! I use it to keep in touch with my friends and family, especially those in WI and MN. Well, as of yesterday afternoon my computer wouldn't let me go on the facebook page. I keep getting an error that says: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. But here's the thing.....I can get on every other page on the web...just not facebook! Oh, and I can get to Facebook's blog page, but thats it! Oh! I'm sooooo frustrated! I don't know if it's because I have vista or what, but it makes me soooo mad that I could get on Facebook yesterday morning and haven't been able to on my computer since then! I don't like vista! I can get on if I'm on a different computer, but that defeats the purpose of having my own computer! Ugh! I have no clue what's up but I"m so frustrated! Thanks for letting me vent!

Yeah, I appologize! Since I've moved I don't have internet access at my apartment. Which means I go to coffee shops and places like Panera Bread that have wi-fi. (It's not cheap to go to those places a lot!) I'm really liking my apartment though. Even though it is TINY! Truth be told, I haven't been there much. I've was dog sitting for two weeks, went home on Friday night, and then started dog sitting for another family on Saturday. It's great for the extra cash, but I miss my bed!
My sister, niece, mom, and dad are coming out to visit and they will be here in 23 days! I can't wait to see them! And even more then that.....I can't wait to see Brian in 68 days!!! Yay!!!

Moving!

I'm moving.......again! Tonight after work I'm going to drop a few things off at my new apartment and then head down to my brother, Luke's, place to pack up all my things and then tomorrow we will bring it all up to my new apartment! I'm so excited to be in my own place! And to have my own kitchen!!!! YAY!!!!! Anyone want any cookies? Just send me your address. :-) I'm going to be baking like crazy and I don't want to eat everything I make.....thats dangerous! :-) But I'm so excited to be in an place of my own. Yay! And it all starts tonight! :-)

I got the aparment!!!! I found out this morning that I got the apartment I looked at last Saturday! I'm so excited! I go tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. to sign the papers and then I move in on Saturday! I am so excited! The Lord has really provided! It's well within my budget and it has a great kitchen!!!! I can't wait to start cooking and baking! ;-) I'll take some pictures once I get moved and settled in.

Today while I was at work getting Ethan's lunch ready and the doorbell rang. I had no idea who it could be because it wasn't Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday when deliveries are ade or the housekeeper comes. So I went to the door and there was a an standing there. I had no idea who it was. I opened the door and there he stood with a vase full of beautiful flowers. For me! There are purple daisies, a gerbra (sp?)daisy (my favorite), a few other small flowers and one red rose in the middle. Guess who they are from?! Brian! Again! That man is going to spoil me! :-) The flowers are so beautiful! And they smell wonderful!

Well, I'm back in WA and back to work. I had such a great week back in WI and MN seeing everyone again and getting to introduce them all to Brian. Everyone I've talked to so far really likes Brian. Yay! :-) I had such a great time spending 8 days with him! I can't wait to see him again in 109 days. We will be together for 11 days over Christmas and I can't wait! I will post pictures of my trip as soon as I get a chance.

You have all probably heard by now that my sister had her baby! Last Thursday, August 16th at 12:23 p.m. Her name is Alyse Rose Hanson. She was 6lbs. 11oz. and 20 inches long. I can't wait to see her!!!! I will be back in WI in 4 days and then I'll finally get to see her and hold her! Yay!

Flat!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while. I"ve been crazy busy lately and both kids are teething so by the end of the I'm beat! I have a bunch of pics to put up but I"ll have to do that another time. I have pictures of Gus's flat I"ll have to put up. Yep. You read correctly. My car, Gus, broke his foot. My car was making a weird noise as I drove home Saturday night from babysitting. I was talking to Brian on the phone and didnt' think too much of it because it stopped after a while. Sunday morning I was up early and headed to Caffee Ladro (local coffee shop) before running to Target to get a gift for a little boy at my church. Tiffanie (Talia's mom) was at Ladro too and I told her about the weird noise my car made and she said that her car got a flat tire on Saturday. So when I went out to my car I looked at the tire and sure enough....FLAT! I called AAA and they came and put my spare on for me. I still made it to church too! After church I went to Firestone to see if they could fix my tire but they were booked solid. So I drove back home and then called back down there to see if I could drop my car off and have them fix it today. SO I just got a call from them saying my car was done and that it's going to cost me over $80 because they couldn't repair my tire. Oh well I guess. At least Gus is better! :)

Only 25 days until I see Brian in WI!!!! Yay! And just now I purchased my tickets to go see Brian in VA over Christmas!!!!! And I will be there for 11 days!!!! I'm sooo excited! He came to visit me out here for 5 days, we'll be together for 8 days in WI, and 11 days in VA. We keep increasing our time together by 3 days each time! :-) hahaha!

My Birthday

Well, most of you know the issues I've been having with my credit and money and Ellie. Well, for my birthday my family all went in and got me a new computer! (You know...the one Ellie was supposed to give me for Christmas!) And then on my birthday I got a letter in the mail from Ellie's dad saying that my credit card was paid off and enclosed was a check for $1000 of the $2000 Ellie owes me in back wages. (Which I wasn't expecting to see!) And in the letter he said the other $1000 would be coming in the next 30 days! Oh the Lord is good! It's rare but I actually had a really great birthday! Thanks to all of you who called me or sent me a gift (you didn't have to do that)!

A Twins Game

So you all know how much I love the MN Twins! I have always dreamed of going to a Twins game one day on a date. I like going with my dad and Ashley and all, but..........well.......a date to the Twins game just doesn't compare!
Well, guess what?!?!?! When Brian and I are in WI we are going to a Twins game! ON A DATE!!!!!!! YAY!!!!! It's such a dream come true!

GREAT news!!!! I'm going back to WI for a week at the end of August and now.......so is BRIAN!!!!!! Yay!!!!! Only 47 days until I see him again!!!! WooHoo!!!! I can't wait!!!! We had such an amazing time while he was out here! It would have been hard to have to wait until Christmas to see him. I'm so glad we found a way to make August work! And then after that trip he will have met most of my family and friends! YAY!

Well.....Brian came and visited me for 4 1/2 days and last night he left. I bawled!!!!!! I'm still fighting tears every now and then today. I miss him SOOOOOOO much!!!!! Roommate Update

So far I have met with 3 potential roommates. The Christian - I had to tell her no because her budget is so low and there is nothing with in the distnace I want to drive that she can afford. The roommate with an apartment - I told her no because she has quite a bit of stuff and the apartment is TINY! The whole apartment could fit in Amber's living room and one bedroom downstairs.....I kid you not! And the 3rd roommate said she was 20 but is really 18 and she has a dog that she doesn't want to tell anyone about because pet deposites are between $300 and $600 and pet rent is between $30 and $70 a month depending on the apartment complex. Soooo......the search continues!

Finding a Roommate

Well, tonight I'm meeting 2 different potential roommates. One right after the other! I'm kinda hoping that the one without the apartment works out the best because she is a Christian. And as most of you know my last roommate (Jolie) was not a Christian. And boy was that....interesting. So please keep that in your prayers. If I do end up being roommates with April (the Christian) we will then need to find an apartment. I'll keep ya posted on how it all goes.

Apartment Search

Well, the search is coming along slowly. I really can't find much in my price range that is also within the distance I'm willing to drive. So I've decided to go the roommate route as much as I don't want to. I posted an add on Craigslist looking for a potential roommate to find an apartment with. I've had a bit more luck with that. I had a gal (24) contact me today. She has a house and needs a roommate. The drive won't be too bad, and it's in my price range. She said she can take some of her stuff to her parents so that mine can be at the house, and we will just share. Which is fine by me. There is another gal who is a Christian that lives with her parents but is looking to find a place in Issaquah (closer to her work) but needs a roommate for that to happen. I wrote back to her today and will probably call her tonight to see about meeting. I'm planning on meeting the gal with a house on Thursday before bible study. So please pray that one of these options works out.

Yep! Only 8 days left!!!! Can you believe it?! I can't! Brian is nervous and I'm just excited. I'm sure I'll be a bit nervous on the 4th, but I'm not nervous as of right now. I'm just excited!!!! Stroller

The double stroller came yesterday! Yay! I haven't been able to go for a walk with the kids because I hurt my back. I used to have to push Ethan in the stroller and dcarry Talia in the Baby Bjorn. My back was in SOOO much pain! So I'm really excited to be able to go for walks again! And its a nice day out today so we'll get to try out the new stroller. Yay!

Yep! It's official! Brian got his tickets and he's definitely coming! It feels more real now! I'm so excited I can't wait! Hey all! I'm in Issaquah WA! I've been here for about 3 weeks now. Wow! That seems crazy. I'm sorry for those of you (Amber) who wanted me to post more but I still don't have a computer so I haven't been online in quite a while. Whenever I get a chance to get onhere I will try to post something.
Work is going great. I came out here to nanny for one little girl, Talia, who is 5 months old and as of this Wednesday I also watch a 3 month old little boy, Ethan. I will be taking care of Ethan until September when he will be going to daycare. There is a 6-12 month wait on daycares out here depending on which one you want to go to! Isn't that crazy?!
I think I may have found a really great church! It's called Mossaic. I have only been once, but I also went to their women's bible study this past Wednesday and it is really great. I've already met a bunch of women my age that have all given me their numbers and want to get together and hang out. I'm really excited for all that the Lord has in store for me. Keep praying for me. This is still a HUGE change to get used to!

I Got the Job!!!!!

I got the job!!! Yep! I'm so excited! I will be moving to Issaquah WA around the 21st of April. For the first month or two I will be living with the famliy I'll be working for so that I can look for an apartment while I'm out there. It's a huge move and a bit scary, but I'm really excited about this move! Yea! So if any one wants to come visit just let me know when! I'll post more details of when I'm leaving and my new address and all that jazz when I learn more.

The End and A Beginning

Today is my last day working with Nick and Nora Bayley. I'm sad about leaving the kids, but at the same time I'm excited for what ever comes next. I'm flying out tonight and heading to WA to visit my brothers, their wives, my niece, and Hannah and Anthony. And then tomorrow afternoon I have an interview in Issaquah with a family. If I get this job I will be coming home and packing up in a weeks time and driving out to WA. If I don't get this job then I come home to no job and I wait on the Lord to show me whats next.
So day is both an end and a beginning. Right after I say goodbye to Nick and Nora I am heading to the airport and flying out in to endless possibilities. I'm excited, nervous, exstatic, terrified, thrilled, and scared, along with many other emotions.
So, if you think about it, please pray that the Lord shows me exactly what He wants me to be doing and where He wants me to be living.

From Scratch!

Sunday night I attempted my first cake from scratch! I made a double layer Boston Creme Cake with a chocolate fudge frosting. I had so much fun making it but I was nervous about how it would turn out. Amber came down stairs and helped me by stiring the chocolate for the frosting while I got the other ingredients ready to go in. When it was all done it looked SOOO yummy!
But the real test......tasting it!

And let me tell you...it was WAY good! And Amber and Franz didn't have any complaints either! It turned out way better than I thought it would! Next time I make it I'm going to have to trim the edges off the cakes and add just a bit more water to the frosting so that it drizzles a little better. But for my FIRST cake from scratch......it turned out great!!! If you ever want a cake just let me know....I'd rather make them than eat them!

In a Baking Mood!

I love to cook! It's so much fun! But I've never really been much of a baker. Until about 2 months ago. And now I seem to be in a baking/cooking mood all the time! I've been trying a lot of new recipes lately. I've made 3 new kinds of cookies and am always looking for new recipes So if you have any favorite cookie recipes please pass them along. AND if you give me your address I'll send ya some of the cookies I make! I usually try to send or give most of the cookies away. That way I don't eat them all! :-)
I've also been trying new recipes when I'm cooking. Lately I've been making this Bruschetta Chicken Bake, and it's WAY yum! And Pineapple chicken is another of my new favorites to make. Anyone want to come over for dinner?! :-) I love to cook and bake, but I hate making things for just myself!
So if you want anything to eat or want to try some of my cookies just let me know! I have nothing else to do these days but be in the kitchen! :-)

Big Changes

Wow! It's been SUCH a long time since I've posted on here! And because it's been such a long time, a lot of things have happened. The last 2 weeks my whole life has been turned upside down! Here's what's been happening:
As pretty much all of you know I am a nanny for 3 different families. I have been with Amelia Reinitz for 3.5 years and Abe Reinitz since he was born just over 2.5 years ago. I've been with Lillie Jensen for about a year and a half and I've been with Nick and Nora Bayley just over a year and a half. About 3 weeks ago Ellie Reinitz came to me and told me to start looking seriously for a new job because we both new that come September Amelia would be going off to Kindergarten and Abe would be going into some kind of preschool. So I had been looking casually for a new job starting back in November.
Well, Ellie came to me on a Monday telling me to start getting serious about finding a new job and by that Saturday I had a phone interview with a lady from the Seattle area and we are planning on meeting in March when I go to Seattle to visit my brothers. And then that next Friday Ellie got some bad news at work and I found out that my last day working with Amelia, Abe, and Lillie would be the next Friday. (Friday, February 23)
So this week and next week I am only working from 3-5 for Nick and Nora Bayley, and then I will be done next Friday March 9th. Then I leave for Seattle on the 9th and then have my meeting with that family on the 10th.
My life has been crazy in the last week and very stressful, but the Lord has totally provided! He had me start looking over 4 months ago, and had an interview lined up for me 6 days before I found out I had a week left of work. I praise Him for all that He has given me and for all that He is doing for me.
If I get this job in Seattle it means a HUGE move for me and it won't be cheap. But the hardest part will be not seeing Amelia, Abe, Nick, and Nora. I will miss them all so very very much! I've been with Amelia since she was 16 months old and she'll be 5 in May! And I've been with Abe since he got out of the hospital! I miss those kids already!!!!!! But I know the Lord will take me to a new family who needs me.
So those are the big changes in my life. Please pray for me as I follow the Lord and all He has for me!

Need a Change

Do you ever feel like something just has to change? I feel like everyday is the exact same day in and day out. I'm looking at options of a new job. Maybe moving somewhere and being a live-in nanny. Or moving and being a live out. I love the families that I nanny for right now and I'd be happy to stay with them. But right now I'm just looking around and seeing what is out there for other possibiliites. So if you hear of any nanny jobs (live-in or live-out) please let me know about them. Anywhere in the country is ok. A lady from IL and a lady from FL have both contacted me. The lady from IL is suposed to call me tonight or tomorrow and I can't reply to the lady from FL (her e-mail keeps sending it back.) So yeah.... if you could keep an eye open for me that'd be great!

Where are my keys?!

In all of my life I have only locked my keys in my car once. Scratch that....last Monday made the 2nd time. Luckily I wasn't in a hurry to be any where and Amber and Franz were both home so Amber could drive my spare key out to me at the library.

In all my life I have never locked myself out of my house. Scratch that....Saturday was the first time. I had the door locked and propped open so that when I brought the last huge load into the house I could just shove the box aside and shut my door with my foot and wouldn't have to make another trip. The second I went out the garage door the wind blew the door shut. And my keys were sitting on the kitchen table. Luckily I had not yet locked my car! My phone was in there so I was able to call people. Amber and Franz, and the only spare key I might add, were out of town for the weekend. Lindsey ended up calling some friends of ours in town (I didn't have their number) and they came over. Chad pried a garage window open with his pocket knife and he and his wife boosted me up and I shimmied through the window. What a day!

Last Tuesday I had a Tupperware party at my house and decided to become a consultant. Tomorrow is my first party. Amber is hosting it! So at least I don't have to travel to my first party! hahaha I am a bit nervous because I'm not quite sure what all to say and what all of the products are called and what all the features of each product is. Anyone who knows me knows that I like to sleep and have a REALLY hard time getting up in the morning. Well since September 6th I have been getting up around 4:45 every morning except Sunday to go to the YMCA and work out before I headed to work. Saturdays I get to sleep in an hour but every other morning I'm up before the sun and at the Y! I am so enjoying it! I LOVE starting my day working out. And to think that I haven't missed a day yet! (Sundays are my day off.) Yea!!!

I normally wake up around 5:45 so that I can work out and get ready for the day and be to work by 8. Today I woke up to my phone ringing at 8:15. Ellie called to see if I was alright because I was late to work. Something that never happens. I can't believe I overslept that much! It's a frist for me! And hopefully it will never happen again. So I woke up WAY late and then it's been cloudy and rainy all day which made me even sleepier! So today has been a bit gloomy to say the least! I hope everyone else's day was better!

Skinny Jeans!!!

O.K........so! Yesterday (Saturday) I went to Maurices to try to find some new jeans because NONE of mine fit. They are all WAY too baggy and saggy. Maurices was having a buy one get one 1/2 off deal on a lot of their clothing so I figured that I might be able to find 2 pairs of pants. However.....I didn't want to buy any pants in the size that I am going out of so I made myself grab all 9/10's to take into the dressing room. (*Side note - I usually grab all 13/14's and maybe an 11/12 when heading to the dressing room.*) So I had 2 pairs of jeans, a pair of tan colored pants, a black skirt that was on sale, and top to go with the skirt. Well guess what!? ALL.....and I repeat....ALL of the clothing (which were 9/10's) fit!!!! I ended up buying everything except the tan pants. It's a good thing they were having a sale, 2 items were from the sale rack, and that I had a taken $10 card filled (which means I get $10 off of my whole purchaes). And because I was feeling so amazing in all the smaller sized clothing I bought a pair of cute sandals as well. Those however were not on sale. Oh well! I still ended up saving $24.50!!! So I did great and now have a smaller wardrobe!!! It was a REALLY good start to the day. Oh, and today as I was getting ready for church I found that none of my nicer shirts fit. At all! They are all way baggy and I could probably fit a small pillow under them! Before jsut getting them buttoned could be a challenge! (They are button down collar shirts.) So yes....the weight loss continues even thought he scale hasn't moved in a couple of weeks. Gaining muscle, baby!!!

Friday night a group of almost 100 people from church rode in 2 big buses and a small bus up to the Metrodome to see the Twins play the White Sox. It was a really really really great game to watch. IT was a really close game until the 7th inning. Then we really took off and won! It was fantabulous!

Coffee, Girls, and God

It's Tuesday again, which means it's time for the youth group girl's bible study at Caribou Coffee. About 12 girls meeting 4 of us leaders at Caribou on Tuesday nights during the summer. It's a way for us leaders to get closer to the girls and build relationships while helping them get a better look at how to center every aspect of their lives around God. Tonights topic was emotions and how as girls we need to let God control our emotions. We share with the girls verses from the bible that talk about the topic. I truely enjoy these times with the girls. I think they learn as much from us as we do from them. Its a great time. We laugh and have fun and we also get serious and open up. It's cool to see some of the "shy" girls really let it all out. God is so good! It's a great time for all of us. Plus, we all get to enjoy good coffee while we talk!

Personal Trainer

Well, I met with a personal trainer today. She said I'm doing great and that I'm doing everything right. I just need to work on keeping my workouts fun and fresh so that I don't get bored with them. She suggested looking into a membership at the YMCA or at Workout 24/7 (It's a local workout facility.) So I'm going to check them out and try to fit a membership at one place into my budget. Hopefully I can do it! Today was my first meeting with Kim (the Personal Trainer) so it was free, and after that it's $30 a sessiono. But she said she didn't think I'd need to meet with her every week. She said that I"m right on track so I might only need one more session with her....if that! That really encouraged me. Knowing that I"m doing the right things. We'll see if the scale agrees tomorrow! :-)

This is Tanya and I waiting in line at 12:30 to get tickets. They started selling them early. At 1:20! Usually they don't sell the tickets until 4ish. So after we got the tickets for everyone we went and stood in line to get in for about 3.5 hours.

Here's Luke in the car after the demo! The car is hardly smashed! He had to pull his plate down early because of a gas leak. Something happen to a cap on the battery and Luke saw a spark, and the puddle of gas at his feet. He immediatly pulled out! After a car in the first heat filled entirly with flames he wasn't taking any chances.

I normally only weight myself once a week on Wednesday mornings. However, I have been doing a lot of working out lately so I decided to just step on the scale again this morning. And I can now officially say that I've lost 20 lbs. in 2 months and 4 days! So now my current weight is 164.4 lbs!! So to reward myself I get to buy myself flowers! Yay!

D.C. Trip

Oh my! It has been a LONG time since I have posted, and for that I appologize. Well, my most recent news was my trip to D.C. I was gone from Tuesday July 25th until Sunday July 30th. Ellie sent me to D.C. for my birthday present. I stayed with her brother, Chris, and his wife, Jenny. I had only met them a couple of times before. I know them now! :) I had such a blast! It was very very hot and sticky while I was out there but that didn't stop me from walking around and seeing everything!:)

I arrived late Tuesday night on a very uneventful trip. Which for me rarely happens! :) As we were flying into D.C. there was a thunderstorm. It was SO cool! I have never seen lightning from an airplane and it was awesome. It lit the clouds up in the coolest way! Very neat!

Wednesday morning Jenny, Chris, and I took the metro to the Spy Museum. THAT was cool! There were all the gadgets and techniques that spies use. We even had to assume a false identity when we first arrived. It was very fun! From there we went to a chinese place for lunch and then took the Metro down town to see the Washington Monument and some of the other monuments. While we were walking away from the Washington monument we noticed a helicopter that was getting close to the lawn. It was a Marines helicopter. And it did land. At that point we noticed all the secret service around the perimeters. Then that on left and a bigger helicopter flew in that said United States of America on it. There was a swarm of secret service agents around who ever got off the helicoper. That person then took a presidential limo to the whitehouse. Everyone around us was talking about the possibility of it being the President. Jenny asked a police officer who it was. It was the Prime Minister of Iraq. It was pretty cool to see. Afer that we walked to see he Lincoln Monument and the Vietnam Memorial. From there we headed home. We went swimming because it was so hot out and then Jenny and I made a fabulous supper! We had Chicken Devine. And it was! Then we watched a movie before bed.

Thursday we drove to Annapolis Maryland. We visied the Naval Acadamy. That was pretty neat! The chapel was very beautiful! Afer we left there we went to a resaurant known for their crab. I tried some of Jenny's crab cake. And I LOVED it! It was WAY good!!!! So then she had me try her scallops. I didn't care for those as much. After that we walked along the very cute streets and stoped at a few of the shops. Souveneir shopping! Then we got some fabulous ice cream! We definately helped the ice cream businesses while I was out there! :) Then we headed home for a prey laid back evening.

Friday I headed to Downtown D.C. all by myself on the Metro!!! Crazy! I know! I did very well though! I had fun. I took a tourmobile that you pay $20 for the entire day and they take you to all the museums and monuments, and other sites and you can get off where you want and stay as long as you want then get back on and of he tourmobiles. Very slick! I went to the Air and Space Museum, by the capitol, to a few of the monuments, to Arrlington National Cemetary and to the white house. It was almost 100 degrees, and I had done a LOT of walking. So I headed back on the Metro. It was Chris's birhday so we were going out. We met some other people they knew at the Smithsonian Jazz Cafe. That was prety neat. Then after that we went out to a bar. Now, thats not something I really wanted to do, but I didn't have any other choice since we had taken the Metro. I was so tired! The bar was loud and crowded yet I still almost fell asleep! It had been a long day for me. And we didn't get home until after midnight!

Saturday, my last full day, we wen to the National Archives Musem. That was really cool to go to. After that we went to Old Town Alexandria. We did a LOT of walking. Oh my goodness! We were all tired by the time we got done doing some souveneir shopping that was 18 blocks of walking away from the Metro. We had to walk there and back! Craziness! We ate another fabulous meal where I tried shrimp! And the desert Jenny made was SOOO amazing! Then we watched another movie before an early bed time.

Sunday I woke up at 5:45 (D.C. time) so that we could leave by 6:10 for the airport. My flight was 1/2 early! A very spiffy flight! Then my mom, dad, Lori, Kyley, and Erik Hanson all picked me up from the airport, and we went to the Twins game! They won! Erik and I have the same birthday so we were both excited they won!!! The game was pretty boring until the 8th and 9th inning!

So that was my trip! Yea!

New News

Hello All! Man, it's been a long time since I've posted on here. So I appologive to all of you who actually check this to see what I'm up to! Well, some recent news was the for 18 days straight I had a horrible migrain! That was no fun! They were so bad, and any light or sound made them worse. And it didn't help working with fussy, screaming kids everyday. It finally got so bad I broke down and went to the doctor. And I have NO insurance! Then I had to go to physical therapy to try to reduce my tension headaches so that my migrains could leave! I haven't gotten the bill yet, but I know it won't be pretty!

This past week Tom Ryan passed away at the age of 83 from cancer. I've dusted for him and his wife every other week for the past year. His funeral was on Friday at the Catholic church here in Red Wing. I attended with Amelia, Ellie, and Steve.

Speaking of Amelia, she turned 4 on Wednesday the 17th. That means I've been with her for 2 1/2 years! Crazy, eh?! She had a birthday party on Thursday for a bunch of her little friends. On the invitation it said come for pizza, cake and fun. Ellie told Amelia that I was the "and fun" for her party. Amelia is really into gardening right now so each child got a small clay pot to put some soil in and then they got to pick out some seeds to plant. It went over really well. Everyone had a fun time! And Amelia was thrilled!

Twins vs. Yankees

I had Friday off with not much to do. I did my laundry, did some shopping, met Lindsey for lunch, got some groceries at Walmart, and then was headed home when I got a phone call from Tim, my brother-in-law. First let me just tell you that Tim NEVER calls me. Especially in the middle of the day. When I answered the phone he said, " Hey, can you come bail me out of jail?" Ummm.....o.k.! Yeah, he was just kidding. But then he asked me if I wanted to go to the Twins game. Of course I said yes. A lady that Tim works with had 2 tickets for the Friday night game against the New York Yankees that she wanted to give away. She asked Tim if he knew anyone who'd want them. So he called me up. I was thrilled! (To say the least!) So my dad and I got 2 free $29 tickets to the Twins/Yankees game. Cool, eh? So we get the about 50 minutes before the game starts, and we each recieved a Joe Mauer (YEAH!) poster with the season schedual on it as part of the promotion. Before the game starts we find out that we are sitting by a bunch of people who have already been heavily drinking, and they continue to buy a LOT more throughout the game! The game was pretty slow going, and was scoreless the first 2 innings. Top of the 3rd and the Yankees get a run in. So far this season at home the Twins have gotten started in the 3rd inning. It held true last night as well. We scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd and held the score at 2-1 until the 7th inning when we got another run in. And then in the 8th inning we scored 2 more runs. The game was pretty good to watch, but it was the fans who mad it so good. Some time around the 6th inning a huge roar started in the section behing center field and spread throughout the stadium. People were shouting, "Yankees Suck!" The lasted for about 2 minutes. There was a guy that ws sitting about 10 rows infront of us who had on a Yankees Suck t-shirt, and a Yankees hat. He wasn't liked too much by the yankee fans that were all around us. So that was pretty funny. Oh! Let me back up. Sometime around the 4th inning a guy came up to the couple that was sitting behind me and dad and told the gal that she was in his seat. He had his hands full of food and some how managed to pull out his ticket without spilling his food all over my head! He figured out that he was in the wrong section. He ws in section 135 and needed to be in section 136. So he looked over there and says, "Oh! I see my brother-in-law sitting over there!" Yep, he was a bit drunk. It was pretty funny. Dad and I, along with the couple behind us, got a good laugh out of that one. We had a great time at the game! It ws a close game up until the 8th inning when we increased our lead to 4 points. The pitching for both teams was really good! YEAH! My first Twins game of the season and it was free, and WE WON!!!!!!!!! WaHoo!

4 a.m. on a Saturday is NOT sleeping in!!!!

3:20 a.m. - I am jolted from my sleep by a very loud rattling noise that had my heater in my room, the closet doors, and my bed all shaking! I jumped out of bed and opened the door to see if the sound was just in my room or in the whole house. Just after I opened my door the obnoxious sound subsided. I figured it was the furnace and had a fleeting thought that there wouldn't be any heat. I was exhausted! Back to bed!
4:15 a.m. - My phone rings and awakes me yet again. It's Amber from up stairs calling me to say that the whole house has filled with smoke, that they are calling 911, I should grab some clothes and shoes and head out side, and to hurry!
4:20 a.m. - Amber puts Mr. McKitty in my car and Franz joins us outside jsut as two cop cars come screaming up to the house waking up the neighborhood. It's about 6 degrees outside as we stand there waiting...and waiting...and waiting for the fire department to arrive.
4:30 a.m. - By now the firemen are in the house checking out the scene. There are no flames which we are very grateful for. A belt in the furnace had burnt up and had caused part of the furnace to shake loose and tilt. (The rattling and obnoxious noise!) After that had happened and the furnace read that the temp. dropped it tried to start again but couldn't, hence filling the entire house with smoke that smelled like burned rubber!
4:45 a.m. - We finally get to go back in the house after the firemen had run a fan to blow the smoke out. The house is still very smelly and I was coughing like a mad woman! Franz went back to bed because he had gotten home from work around 2:30ish and hadn't had much sleep when the house filled with smoke. Amber and I couldn't take any more of the smell.
5:00 a.m. - Amber and I arrive at Perkins. Where else is there to go at 5 in the morning?! There was no way we were going to be able to sleep in a smelly house after freezing outside for a half an hour. So after a not so good breakfast we headed home.
6:15 a.m. - It's way too early to be awake. Especially on a Saturday! I can't function with only 4 hours of sleep! So with nothing else to do I sit in my comfy chair and stare blankly at the t.v.
7:30 a.m. - I can't sleep because once I'm awake there's no getting back to sleep. Especially after all the excitement of 4 a.m.! So I decide to come on here and let you all know just how eventful my Saturday morning has been. And it isn't even 8:00 yet!!!

SNOW!!!

Monay, March 13 is my day off. A day to sleep in. Go with Amber to the cities to get a gift and do some shopping. WRONG!!!!! I was awoken at 7:15 (on my day off) by Ellie who was calling to tell me not to go anywhere today. The roads are horrible and there are over 200 schools closed around the area. It snowed more than 5 inches between 5 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. People are in the ditch all over. Towing companies are closed because they can't even get out of their own lot to go help people get unstuck! So I get to spend my day off stuck at home. Oh well. Yeah for snow!

Good bye Kirby

Yesterday afternoon Adam and I went up to the Metrodome with many other twins fans to say good bye to Kirby Puckett. It was a very touching memorial with Twins greats telling of how funny Kirby was and how every time he was on the field he gave all he had. Even if it was a spring training game that was about to be cancled early by bad weather he would still give it all he had and would hussle as if it were a game that really counted. Everyone talked about the infectious laughter and massive smile that was Kirby. The really touching moment was at the end when they shut off all the lights in the dome and had a lady spotlighted while she sang. After she was done singing the spotlight went off of her and then light up center field where the #34 jersey was laying. It was really cool getting to be a part of that and seeing how many fans loved Kirby Puckett.

Ramblings

This week has been kind of crazy! On Monday I didn't have Lillie so Amelia, Abe, and I got to go to my parent's farmin the morning. That's a rare treat. Going anywhere for us is a rare treat because I cannot fit 3 carseats in my little car. So when we were in Ellsworth I took the opportunity to go to the Creamry for some cheese curds! YUM! It's been so long since I've had those squeeky little curds. And they were fresh! Of course....I shared with everyone I saw so I didn't get very many, but hey......some is better than none! Then that night Amber and I ran to Shopko in RiverFalls because they were having a sale on all their baby things. Yep...it wsn't anything big like they advertised. We weren't impressed. But we did find some maternity shirts for Amber, so thats good. Tuesday........ Valentines Day.....yuck! Of course I wore black. What else would I wear?! :) I was looking forward to spending the night doing absolutely nothing but laundry and watching some American Idol. That didn't happen. Ellie called me at 3:30 looking for a babysitter. Of course I had nothing going on so I said I"d babysit. So I got home around 10:20....got ready for bed...and fell asleep at 11:05. 11:15 I found my phone to be ringing. Corie - a gal from youth group decided to call me at 11:15 and tell me to pass on a message 12 times and to try to get it back so I would know that I was loved. I told her I wasnted to go back to bed so I could sleep a bit beforeI had to wake up at 5:20. But once my phone rang it had woken me up and so I spent the rest of the night in a restless sleep. Ugh! Wednesday came way too early. I had no desire to move. I laid there watching my t.v. for far to long. Every muscle in my back ached because of my fitfull sleep. All I wanted to do was pull the covers over my head and fall back to sleep. So by the time I managed to drag myself out of bed I had to hurry to get ready for work. So off to work I went at 6:40. It was a crazy but fun day at work like usual, and then after work I had to go right to church to work on a play for this Sunday. Then it was off to my Youth Leaders meeting and then Youth Group. I finally got home at ten minutes to 9. I was SOOOO ready for bed. But then I got a surprise phone call from Josh. I wasn't expecting to talk to him until tonight, and I hadn't talked to him since Monday except for 1 minute and 23 seconds on Tuesday morning. Yeah! I got to talk to Josh!!! And then this morning I I woke up to find that Red WIng schools were closed because of the snowy weather. So I worked int he morning for the Bayleys (whom I usually work for from 3-5) and I am now at Amelia's house. (Abe and Lillie are sleeping) So....this week has been crazy.....and it isn't even over yet!!!! Hope you are all having a great week! Talk to you later.

Yep..... I'm now auntie for the second time! Emslie Louise Kenall was born at 9:10 p.m. (W.A. time) on Thursday January 26th! She weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. and was 20 inches long. I got to see her picture that was on the hospital website and she looks like a cutie. I can't wait to see her in person!!! I'll be in WA in June and I can't wait to see my little neice!

That's right, I'm an aunt! Monday, December 19th at 1:10 a.m. Lindsey, my sister, gave birth to a little boy. His name is Hunter Uriah Hanson and he weighed 6 lbs. 5 ounces, and was 19 inches long. He is so cute!!! (But I'm not biased at all!) :) He is a healthy little boy, and loved by all his family members! Isn't he cute?!

Yesterday I wrote my final paper for my very last college class! Yeah! Now all I have to do it transfer 9 of my credits that I have taken through other school to my main college where I have been going to school. So by sometime in January I should have a piece of paper that says I've graduated from college. Wohoo! A whole piece of paper! WOW! :) Well, I just thought I'd share my excitment of writing my very last college paper!

So yesterday I got a little bored. I dusted for an elderly couple in the morning, grabbed a cup of jo, went to the bank, shopped around at Maurices and got a few shirts. I did this all before 11:00. But thats not the crazy part. After coming out of Maurices I was walking passed the hair salon in the mall on my way to my car when all of a sudden I got the crazy urge to cut my hair. Ok, so why is cutting my hair crazy? Well, I had Lindsey's voice in my head saying "You need to cut your hair. Get it short with a bunch of layers." So, I turned around and headed into the salon. I asked if they had any openings and of course they did. (I should have turned around there.) So they asked me what I wanted done with my hair. I told them I had no idea. I told them I wanted something different, and that I didn't want it too short because I still wanted to be able to pull it all back into a ponytail. So the gals hooked me up with Amy. Let me tell you a little about Amy. She's 19 and JUST graduated from hair school (whatever it's called) this July. (That should have been my second clue.) So my hair was washed, and dripping wet while I sat in the hair and she formed an idea of how to manage my thick, wavy hair. Ok, mistake #3 on my part - I said "Have fun, I don't care my hair grows back fast." *Note to self* - NEVER and I repeat NEVER tell a woman with scissors to have "fun" with your hair! Well, as most of you know I'm pretty much blind without my glasses on. So the whole time she was cutting my hair I had absolutely NO idea what she was doing to my long hair. However I could feel a lot of hair coming off because my head felt lighter.

So she's done cutting, layering, and thining my hair so she lets my look at it. It was cute but oh so wavy. So then she dries and straightens it. After it was all dry and straight it looked really cute. So after my crazy idea to let someone else do what ever they want to my hair...I relly like it. Granted it will take time to get used to it because its about 4-5 inches shorter with LOTS of layers, but it is really cute. Sometime I'll have to post a pic of my new do.

Another Wedding Over

Well, I spent this past weekend in Milwaukee for Amie's wedding. It was a cute wedding. I did manage to fir into my dress, but I truely couldn't breath. I couldn't manage any food because I had no room for it. And I couldn't sit because then I couldn't breath at all. But other than that the wedding was fun. Amie looked so beautiful in her dress. Both her and one of the other bridesmaids (Emily) cried pretty much the whole time.

So last week I only worked 3 days because of the wedding, and this week I"m only working 3 days (2 days for 2 families) because of Thanksgiving. Its nice to have 2 short weeks in a row, but it also bites because being a nanny I don't get paid for days I take off or for holidays. But I still enjoy my days off! I don't really have any plans for Turkey day, but I"m sure I'll be going to my parents house. My mom's side of the family will all be at our house this year. Thats a lot of people in one house...no mater how big the house is. But at least this year I can leave anytime I want...unlike in years past when I lived there...there was no where to go to escape the chaos! :) Well, I pray you all have a blessed Thanksgiving, and that you all truely enjoy and cherish the upcoming holiday season!

Ok, so my friend Amie is getting married this Saturday and I am in her wedding. Her wedding was suposed to be on June 11th but they moved it back a bit. She bought the bridesmaid dresses in July of 04. I had told her at the time that the dress may not fit come the time of the wedding. Well, guess what...yup....it doesn't fit. Amber tried to get it zipped up on Saturday night and couldn't. Sunday morning i tried wiht a different strapless and I got it zipped up...I just can't breathe! But at least I can wear the dress now. I may pass out for lack of oxygen, but...oh well...the price you pay right? ;) But, eventhough the dress may not fit I am still excited to go visit Amie, and see her get married. And the best thing....I get to take the train to Milwaukee! Not that I like riding the train at all. ;) Ya'll be blessed now ya here?!

All the Time! This morning in church Pastor Tom was speaking on freedom and how God desires to set us free from EVERYTHING! He was using Galations 5 in his message. Galations 5:1 says - Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. At the end of service Pastor Tom had an altar call. He said that he wasn't going to ask for people to raise their hands, but to get up out of their seats and come forward if they needed to be set free from anything, no matter what it was.

For as long as I can remember people have told me that I will end up like my aunt Kay. Old, single, and crabby. I believed it for so long and I was afraid of being alone for the rest of my life. Pastor had said that living in fear is a bondage that the devil is holding over some people. As soon as he said that I knew I needed to get to that altar. God worked on me this morning and has set me free! John 8:36 "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." Pastor Tom was walking around praying for people and certain people he talked to and asked them what they needed to be free from. He asked me and I told him and he prayed over me for a while and then he asked me what I felt when he prayed what he did. the only ws I could describe it was that I could breath. I felt a huge weight lifted off my chest. A weight I hadn't realized was there! God is SOOO Good!

Wonderful Wednesday!

I realize that I"m not very good at keeping in touch so I figured I'd start a blog so that I can at least say that I"m trying. So today is Wednesday. I arrived at work at 7 this morning to find out that Lillie (the 12 week old) was only going to be here until 10 instead of 3. So now Amelia, Abe and I can meet Lindsey at Perkins for lunch. This is a special treat for all of us. Since Lillie started we haven't gotten to get out much during the day because my tiny car just doesn't hold three car seats! So we are on our way to the Library and then Perkins. And I also found out that I probably wont have Lillie for the rest of the week! It will be a nice little break for all of us! Three kids under the age of three every day can get a bit hectic!

Well, we're off to the Library. Ill post again as soon as I can. God bless you all!
